Request account & data deletion

You can delete your Aji IQ account and every piece of personal data we hold about you at any time. There are two ways to do it — the in-app flow is the fastest; the email path exists as a backup in case you have lost access to your account.

Submit a deletion request

This securely sends your request to Aji IQ privacy. You can also email privacy@ajiiq.com.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the Aji IQ app

  1. Open the Aji IQ app on your phone or the web app at app.ajiiq.com.
  2. Go to Profile Settings Account.
  3. Tap Delete my account.
  4. Confirm by typing the word DELETE in the confirmation field.

Your account is deactivated immediately. You can restore it by logging back in any time during the next 30 days — after that, every record tied to your account is permanently and irreversibly deleted. See our Privacy Policy for the exact list of data removed.

Option 2 — Email our privacy team

If you can't sign in — lost password, deactivated device, or any other reason — send an email to privacy@ajiiq.com from the address associated with your Aji IQ account. Include:

  • The email address on file
  • Your display name or any profile detail that helps us identify the account
  • A one-line confirmation that you are requesting deletion

We will verify ownership, deactivate the account within 3 business days, and complete full data deletion within 30 days of the deactivation.

What gets deleted

  • Your account (email, name, Cognito identifier)
  • Your taste profile and onboarding answers
  • Every check-in, save, collection, follow, and chat message you created
  • Every analytics event tied to your user ID
  • Uploaded photos (dish photos, menu scans) you contributed
  • Any content you submitted to shared sessions (Together mode)

What is retained (and why)

Some data is retained after account deletion in a form that no longer identifies you:

  • Aggregated, anonymous usage counts used to compute dish popularity and scoring.
  • Transactional records of payments (Aji PRO subscribers only) required by tax law — we retain these in anonymized form for the period legally required by U.S. federal and state tax law (typically 7 years).
  • Security and abuse-prevention logs (IP + timestamp only, no user identifier) for a maximum of 90 days.
